If not, don’t check this post. It might have a spoiler. Clear? Don’t blame me later if you do read it. By opening this post you waive any and all right to bitch at me.
So, how about that Rosberg “pass” on Verstappen, right?
I was watching on Sky Sports F1 and though I generally enjoy the commentators there since they are knowledgeable, I think they read this one wrong entirely.
I’m sorry Mr. Brundle, but if this is the kind of racing you want to see, you are leaning towards the “rubbing is racing” mentality in an open wheel motorsport.
Rosberg turned in waaaaaaay too late to leave any kind of room for Verstappen. There was no other option for Verstappen but to turn in as late as possible to remain within track limits, and he still got pushed off. That was a genuine Rosberg divebomb into the hairpin. Fair penalty in my opinion.
It’s kind of confusing how a racer like Raikkonen complains about Verstappen moving twice when the second move is turning in to the corner to avoid this kind of bullshit.
Opinions welcome!

I’m 100% on the side of the stewards here and glad they’re showing consistency since it was identical to his attempt to keep Hamilton behind in Austria. Going deep to prevent your opponent from being able to make the corner is basically dive bombing, which is a huge no no. I loved Rosberg’s “I was at full lock!” comment. It’s like yeah, buddy. You were. Just not in a place to try to make the corner.

I know nothing about F1 but that looked like an amatuer online racing duck move. I don’t want you to beat me so I’ll push you of the track.

Exactly! The onboard camera says it all.
I’m all for a bit of aggressive racing and I think Verstappen is a bit of a fresh wind at the moment, generally going all out to both defend and attack. Even if it annoys a veteran behind him :).

If people haven’t watched the race by now and are still checking an automotive/motorsports forum then it sucks to suck if the race gets spoiled

My thoughts as well. But there are some vocal people that seem to pop up whenever anything about an F1 race is posted within the first 12 hours after the race, just because they happen to live in an inconvenient timezone compared to where the races happen :P.

Rosberg has done this repetitively. He is putting other cars in the position of being forced to either practically stop dead and restart behind him - or drive off of the road.
He’s figured out how to block from behind by driving his car to where the lead car is going to be if it sees him and gives him room, which Verstappen did, then cutting it off. It’d actually be impressive if it wasn’t his go-to move, now.
What other drivers do is dive in hard by braking late. Rosberg drives in just as easy, but makes his car an obsticle by re-defining the area of track accessible to the leading driver.

It’s usually the same ones that never seem to learn

Yeah, it’s the kind of thing that will get you banned from iRacing after a few tries.

Seriously. I expect that move out of spec Miata drivers, not F1 drivers. One day he'll do that to a teammate who doesn't yield and take the, both out. Then he'll really look like an idiot. Oh wait...
